Who are you, where do you live and what do you do?
My name is Xué, I’m originally from Barcelona, but now living in beautiful San Sebastian, in the north of Spain. I’m a photographer specialising in surf and board sports, and brand manager of Yow, a surf/skate company made in Spain.
Describe your lifestyle?
After living a nomadic life for the past few years I decided to settle down for a bit and process all the knowladge gained while having my own space for once. I live a pretty simple life at the moment: I work and skate during the week and surf and take pictures during the weekends.
What’s your biggest dream?
My biggest dream is to wake up to a world where kindness is more important than money or power.
What excites you about the world?
The world is fucked up, but it excites me to know that most of the people that surround me are good people. There’s definitely a tendency to a more kind and humane world, still so much to work on, though.
How do you begin or end your day?
Putting my Pirates Dreaming rings!! ahahah nah sorry, with music!
What song, singer or band do you love the most?
I’ve been enjoying a lot the band “Country Breakfast” recently. Stan Getz and Khruangbin have been playing quite a lot in my phone as well. But I don’t think I have a favorite artist or song, it just depends on the day!
Whose words touch you the most?
Not the most, but I’m really into Mazzy Star.
How do you find balance?
I just put my energy into the things that make me the most happy and canalize the negative ones by surfing, skating, taking pictures or trying to play music. I really have arrived to the point where I don’t stress for stupid things that cannot be fixed and try find the positive pole of each situation.
What is next for you?
I don’t know yet, I just wanna keep doing what I like and being happy, the rest will follow I guess. Hopefully I get to visit you guys in Australia!
Describe your philosophy of life in one sentence…..
Nothing is too good, nothing is too bad. It all depends on what you take and what you learn from each situation. I arrived to this point mostly thanks to all the bad things that happened to me.
